FTTC Waiting list

Go to solution

I'm planning on moving house within the next 2 months - I checked the exchange the property is using and it says FTTC availability is "Waiting list" (I'm assuming this means the cabinet is at full capacity)

BT is only offering ADSL where as Sky, TalkTalk etc are saying they can give me up-to 63mbps!

I've just renewed by BT contract for 18 months on Fibre 2!

What are my options, we're moving house due to my daughters disability so refusing the house wouldn't be sensible aha!

TIA

Sky and Talk Talk are lying. If the checker says waiting list then, unfortunately, there are no spare ports in the cabinet. Waiting list is a misnomer, there is no waiting list, it is a question of grabbing a port when one becomes free due to someone ceasing their service.

Unfortunately so, until FTTP becomes available to you at some point.

When the current owner moves out they will cease their line and whoever grabs it first will be connected.  You may want to ask the current owners if they can delay their cease until after you move in and then when they cease you need to put your order in the moment you see it is available.
