FTTP 900mbps via Smart Hub 3, PS 5 connected via CAT6, so why are downloads taking 6hrs?

I have just moved from FTTP 500mbps Smart Hub 2 to FTTP 900mbps Smart Hub 3 but have noticed game updates to my PS5 are taking around 4-6hrs to download depending on file size. They used to take 30mins when I was on FTTP 500. The PS5 is connected to the router via CAT6 cable and that set up hasn't changed, the only thing that has changed is the Smart Hub and the contract speed. I have carried out a speed test through the PS5 settings menu and the results are as expected, download speeds of around 750mbps; so why are my downloads now taking so long?

Do you have problems downloading anything else on other devices or is it only on your PS5?

If you still have your Smarthub 2 have you tried reconnecting it as a test to see if might be a faulty hub?

Yes I have problems downloading large files over the wifi as well. No longer have the smart hub 2 as had to send that back before they charged me for it.

Are you noticing any issues with other online activities, or is it mainly large downloads that are affected?

Have you been able to test a large download on another device connected to the hub?

Also, when running a speed test on another device, do you get similar results to what you’re seeing on the PS5?

Hi. Still having issues with the PS5 downloads taking 5-6hrs. Plus I'm now starting to notice WiFi connections dropping out, for instance I'm streaming Apple TV on the tele and it drops out for no reason. I had zero issues with my smart hub 2, so why have all these issues started since changing to the smart hub 3?

You could try using "Compatible Wif" in the Smarthub 3 Advance Wireless settings.

EDIT: Just re-read the whole thread and notice that you had said you were using an Ethernet connection so just ignore the above with regards to your PS5. It might help with the wireless connection to your other devices.

@garry101  I take you’ve checked that ethernet cable and reseated the connections?  This weather, a bit of thermal creep on one of the plugs can lead to intermittent connections.
