Fibre to the home question

Go to solution

We are now eligible for fibre to the home. I understand that there is an additional modem that has to be plugged into the mains and videos show houses with a spare twin gang mains socket where the router and modem are plugged in. In my case, I don't have a spare (or indeed any) twin ganged mains sockets in the room where I've currently got the BT router. In fact I don't have one in any of the rooms on the street side of the house. Is there any problem in plugging the modem and router into a trailing multi-socket extension lead?

Thanks!

An extension lead will be fine.

You can get converter sockets from the likes of Screwfix/Toolstation that will convert a single gang socket to dual.
