Fibre

I ordered Fibre back in January, i was told it’s now available. My case has been escalated but still nothing. Waiting for it to be installed to the outside. Not been given a reason for the delay.

Re: Fibre

Hi,

  • I know how you feel. My order was placed on 19th November (It's now 183 days later) - it's been with Executive Complaints since February and still seem no closer to an installation. I have had 10 pushbacks of the Activation date for my installation - so far .......
  • I followed up my escalation with a letter to Allison Kirkby CEO of BT in April - but this has not had any impact as the reply stated that I was already dealing with the correct department to move things on.
  • Do you have to have any digging completed? I believe that this is a big issue with OpenReach.
My experience of this has been "Permission to dig" sent to 4 neighbours on the same private drive as me.
These were then sent out again twice to two of these neighbours.
Followed by two submissions of Wayleave requests by Openreach to both of these houses,  each of which were promptly completed and posted back, these were then followed by a suggestion that an escalation to the Land Tribunal to bypass their permission - even though they had already agreed and sent back signed forms.
(All these actions have done little to promote good relations with my neighbours - all of whom have been 100% supportive of this work, so far...)
  • I hope that you get some resolution to your order. When I posted my comments earlier about fibre installation delay the response from the "expert" was that the time frame was resonable in his estimation.
  • It seems that Openreach is the restricting factor in my personal installation and that as a BT subscriber you have no means to contact them directly. Its just a case of we'll fit it when it suits us.
  • Good luck with your order progression - I hope that you have more success than me.

Re: Fibre

Hi there, this sounds awful, you’ve been waiting so much longer. I’m so sorry to hear this, my son is doing an apprenticeship and can’t do any work online as our Wi-Fi is so bad. Openreach can’t be contacted and we have no option to go elsewhere because even if I switched provider it’s only Openreach that can do the work. I have contacted my local MP who has contacted openreach and they have not replied. I have now contacted the local news on BBC as there was a story similar to ours a while ago. I’m waiting to hear back. I really hope it gets resolved for you sooner rather than later.

Re: Fibre

Thank you for your comments.
I hope that your order is sorted soon too. I'd be interested if the BBC news angle gets any action - I may look into that myself when my patience finally gives in . It's interesting that the MP received no reply - I had considered that action myself.
Like you Openreach are the only local network provider so changing internet provider has no impact.
