Re: Full Fibre Cables are up. When can I expect to CONNECT?

@Burnedrope

That means your exchange isnt currently a FTTP priorty exchange, an exchange tends to become that when the majority of propeties connected to that exchange can order FTTP and then only FTTP products can be ordered from suppliers except in exceptional circumstances

I'll make a note of when I can order it to help others get a rough idea of when it will be available

Not sure why a year old thread has been dug up...

@Burnedrope

You need to look for this line in the Wholesale Checker.

If it's available then the notes at the bottom will indicate what's involved in the installation, which may not necessarily be one stage as per the image. If all looks good then as @NigelB72 said, you just need to be patient until BT catch up.

Have you tried checking with your ISP of choice if you can order a full fibre package, if you got the email saying its available at your adress you should be able to.

When I got it a few years back I was able to order pretty much instantly

Just be aware, there is often a delay between Openreach sending that email and the ISP's ordering system catching up.

In my case, BT was about a week before I could order but I noticed at the time that Sky was more like 6 weeks (and their forum says that is typical).  I suspect the rest will be somewhere in between.

@WSH I had the opposite. BT told me it wasn't available and they also reliably informed me that Sky had no Openreach appointments for 6 months. Sky had me installed and running within 2 weeks of ordering 🤣

Sky seem to be aware that I can get their 900mbps package so this tracks

@NigelB72   It’s difficult to know what’s going on at times.

I specifically booked an OR install with Sky six weeks back.  CF turn up and I send them packing, as they wanted to dig things up.  Sky's excuse?  Well they tried to tell me "OR sometimes send out CF when they are busy".  At which point I cancelled and came back to BT.

You’ve got to laugh, haven’t you.

@WSH it's all got a bit muddled recently since Sky started using CF as well. When I came to my last renewal, I found OR options very limited so next time around, I might end up having a CF ONT fitted which is annoying but at least we'll be well covered on fibre options. We've got VM, OR and CF on our street 😆

@NigelB72   So have I but the CF infrastructure is positioned so it can't connect to OR's ducts even with PIA.  Consequently, CF wanted to dig a commnual drive shared by four households.  (I know VM can use the ducts as I watched them put it through the ducts two years ago, when next door went with them).

Long story short, BT had got their act together in the meantime and finally offered me a sensible price for a change.  Ended up on FF150 for the same price as a new customer...so there is hope.
