Re: Full Fibre

Thanks for your response Peter_W.  How would all this work in a power cut?

Re: Full Fibre

your hub and digital voice will not work in a power cut so you you would need a battery back-up or be able to use your mobile phone

A helpful reply but I would comment that, if the OP wants to keep an analogue landline so calls can still be made in a power cut, WiFi calling won't be any help, because that relies on a broadband connection just as digital voice does.
Of course, sooner or later, EVERYONE will have to accept digital voice as analogue landlines are being retired, and then the sole means of keeping the ability to make calls in a power cut is battery backup of your router/hub and of your ONT if you have full fibre.

I think I'll just stick with what I have for as long as possible!

Re: Full Fibre

so have you cancelled your upgrade to full fibre?  obviously if you are now out of contract any discounts you had will now be lost resulting in a higher bill

Re: Full Fibre

Being out of contract is the only way that the OP can keep her analogue landline phone - for now at least.
If she enters into any new contract for either FTTP or FTTC, BT will most likely insist she has her landline changed to digital voice.
So the higher out of contract bills are the price to be paid for keeping an analogue landline.
But sooner or later, BT will insist the change is made to DV and that's when taking out a new contract would be the best thing to do.
