Help with install

Hi. Im stuck at what i can do for my fibre install.

So in december i took broadband with fiberly. They could not get a fibe line to my house. The duct is block. Order was cancelled. I put it down to near xmas and city fibre could not be bothered. 

This week i tried again by sky. Same issue. City fibre spent 4 hours and could not do.

They say blocked and need to dig a drive up. Its block paving so they wouldnt fix it properly.

What are my options to get fibre. I have a grass area on side if house. I asked if some form of pavement bix on the side can be put in. Then wire to house digging grass up. 

Are openreach more likely to provide better solutions. I find city fibre lazy in thier work to get a line in. Surely these highly paid techs can do something diff. 

Im thinking of virgin media. There cabinet is by my grass area.

The duct belongs to Openreach, so whether CityFibre are allowed to dig it up is debatable.

Also, this is a customer-to-customer help forum for BT the residential ISP.  While both part of BT Group, BT and Openreach are separate companies and one has no influence on the other.  The forum has no connection with Openreach.  While I think one or two of the regulars are ex-Openreach, nobody on here can really tell you what Openreach may or may not do.  I would suggest you try here:

If City Fibre , who presumably are leeching onto Openreach duct ,  can’t get a City Fibre cable through it to your house wall on behalf of Sky , and Fiberly who AFAIK only use Openreach network so OR or an Openreach contractor couldn’t get a fibre cable through the OR duct to your house wall , and  its the duct that is blocked under block paving but  you won’t agree to it being taken up in case it isn’t replaced to your satisfaction then try Virgin , unless they too are leeching onto Openreach duct , then the same problems will remain…if VM have their own physical network they may get service in without using  the OR duct , but frankly none if this has anything to do with BT.

When next door had Virgin, about 4 years ago, they used the OR duct.

Virgin can and do use Openreach ducts and even poles via PIA rules , although as far as I know that’s usually Virgin supplied via Nexfibre FTTP rather than their DOCSIS network….but Nexfibre is fundamentally Virgin anyway .
