Hello all,
We've had the same issue on and off for the past 4 years, internet will run smooth and we get stupidly good speeds for a few months, but then we will have a couple of months of on and off internet and speeds that make dial up look good.
We have noticed it happens more when it rains, is there anything to that or is it just an odd coincidence?
We had an engineer out this week and it's no better, it's actually worse (I doubt any fault of the the engineer) and another due to check it tomorrow. I have mentioned the rain theory every time now, but I get told it's not possible because it's waterproof.
Is there any suggests, or things I should ask the engineer tomorrow?
Thank you in advance!
Hi, @Zo3 welcome to the community and thanks for posting. I'm sorry to see you're experiencing issues with your broadband. Has the engineer been yet?
Rain can affect broadband especially if you have ADSL or FTTC broadband and it's getting into the line or joint. It can cause noise on the line which causes issues with your broadband.
Please can you dial 17070 from your landline select option 2 and the line should be silent. If there's any noise it's likely the reason for your broadband issues.
Thanks
Neil
