Assuming you're on copper & not full fibre, do you have an old router kicking around to try? Just in case the line fault is fictitious.

You do realise that this is just a customer to customer forum only, and everyone here are just customers? The only BT employees are the forum moderators.
I'm on FullFibre with a red LoS indicator on all the time. Have tried swapping my UniFi gateway out for the BT hub to no avail. Extremely confident this issue lies outside my house.

LOS is loss of signal, i.e no light into the ONT.
Do any of your neighbours have the same indication, if so it would indicate a problem with the whole PON.
