I want to firstly say that I have no intention of removing the fibre cable myself.
I am having my hallway repainted and I'm concerned the painter could accidentally pull out the fibre cable - could it be yanked out by mistake? Is it a simple connecter that you squeeze in a plastic tab and then you can remove it?
Of course, I will tell them to be careful, but I'm wondering if I have to take any precautions to avoid something happening. I have read on here that the cable is very fragile, my concern is a heavy-handed painter might accidentally pull it out while trying to move it out of the way.

It does have a locking clip on it to sstop it being accidetally being removed. Any painter worth his salt should be able to work around it.
The cable isn't at all fragile, but doesn't like being kinked. The problem with disconnecting it is one of cleanliness. The end of the connector has to be scrupulously clean, the slightest speck of dust or smearing from being touched can impair the signal.
@pippincp thanks. Good to know it is locked in there somewhat.
@licquorice thanks for your reply and help.
