Re: Maximum available speed halved in a week.

My connection keeps coming and going and my latest speed test was under 24mb which is less than the new guaranteed speed so BT will have to report it as a fault.

I will get onto them tomorrow, Thanks for the help.

Re: Maximum available speed halved in a week.

BT , and every other ISP don’t knock your speed down to match the minimum speed guarantee, but if you have a fault that reduces your speed , the speed estimate can reduce because of the real world data that’s being produced by your faulty connection, fix the fault , the speed goes back up , the real data ( speed ) increases and the minimum speed increases when you look at checking sites , or other ISP predictions.

What makes no sense is you state you had an engineer out ( so irrespective of the speed guarantee you must have your fault accepted otherwise why did any one visit  ) if the engineer says your speed is 80 ( it cannot be more than 80 as that’s the maximum on FTTC ) then presumably your faulty line has been repaired and over time your speed guarantee on checker sites will also  go up .

As requested, post your router stats , that will show the required information.

Re: Maximum available speed halved in a week.

There is no guarantee on download speed. Any guaranteed speed is connection speed to your hub

As have been asked twice post the connection stats from your hub.  If unsure how to post screen shot us the camera icon to post

how to upload photo.PNG

This will the forum member help you

Re: Maximum available speed halved in a week.

@eddwood1  Please post back with the result after you have been on the phone.

Throughout this thread you have appeared to ignore any attempts to assist you. Why did you post here only to ignore those trying to help? If you didn't know how to get and post the hub page you were asked for all you had to do was ask how to do it. Someone would have taken you througfh it step by step. no-one would judge you if you are not tech savvy (most users aren't).
