Moving home

I am moving home on Thursday after this only being confirmed on Monday by the solicitors. Everything has been so easy to transfer to the new address apart from broadband.
I’m unable to carry my current provider fibrenest over as it will remain at my current property as the only provider for this new build estate, so the new owner will take it over.
BT seems to be the best for the area at the new property but when taking this out the earliest activation was 8th April, 15 days away? What I don’t understand is the current owner is on BT, it’s self set up so an engineer isn’t coming to do this.
Has anyone had a similar issue/found it can be turned on earlier? Me and my husband both work from home full time so it is a real issue.
this date was given online and when I called up.

@Rach3

"Me and my husband both work from home full time so it is a real issue."

So have you ordered a business service from BT, or a residential one?

As you are both reliant on a good broadband service for your work, I assume that you have some sort of backup plan in place, (eg mobile phone WiFi hotspots), in case the broadband ever failed, so why not just invoke that?  🤔

Re: Moving home

Where we are moving to is really remote, so we are not sure that mobile hot spot/a dongle would be strong enough signal to work.

The question was more to get an idea if anyone else has been in a similar position and was able to get a sooner date/found it turned on earlier than stated, as 15 days seems a long time.
