Need help to get a fibre to premises instal

Daughters house has fibre port at the pavement or at least fibre in the street

they are currently on virgin ( just been corrected they have a Vodafone service at the moment ) and want to move to BT

other houses in street are getting front gardens dug up to instal the BT fibre to the house but my daughter has been told they cant have it as too expensive  to dig up their front this doesn't make any sense to me

how can we get a survey , if needed I could assist with digging a trench for BT  to make it easier

Would even lay the duct for BT if it was provided

only talking of 15 metres  of drive way they could have the trench dug up the side

Re: Need help to get a fibre to premises instal

can you enter your daughter's address and post results including all the notes which will show what is available and if dig is needed

I assume by posting on the forum that you intend to us BT as the ISP.  if so did you try and place an order with BT

Re: Need help to get a fibre to premises instal

Aah full story only now becoming  clear

sorry  now hearing full story

so looks like they tried to go to vodafone from virgin

vodafone who mustbe ? Using openreach declined saying an fttp install would be too expensive  so they declined

I have now suggested they just go direct with BT ( I would say that as BT pay my pension )

so hopefully BT will run the fttp in

thanks for your assistance !

Re: Need help to get a fibre to premises instal

Vodafone sent out a Bt openreach surveyor who took photos and said that BT would not install fttp as distance too far and it exceeded the £1000 limit they said same refusal would apply
even if they were applying for BT/ EE broadband

If this DP is too far on this side of road could they not use the DP and fibre that extends closer to their property on other side which is a culdesac  and the house is at the end

See the photos we were provided with ?

They are now applying for BT broadband but concerned this too will be rejected for same reason Openreach surveyor mentioned

Surveyors report :-
“Buried estate new duct required from house around edge of driveway 28 in soft and and then to box 25m hard marked up with grey paint cable coiled up at CBT”

this is the surveyors photo of the coiled cable he mentioned
