New FTTP install - speed well below guarantee

Hi,

Just had Full Fibre (900Mbps) installed but getting only 250 Mbps on speedtest (device ethernet attached to Hub). Is this normal for a new install and does the speed eventually ramp up? Thanks for any input.

Speed should be 900 immediately.

Is the attached machine (network card) up to date/spec?

Are you measuring the speed on a wireless or wired device?  A wireless device will never attain the full speed of the line.

Also I think it takes 48 hours or so for the line to balance..

The OP does state ethernet connected device.

FTTP speed should be immediate, no need for the line to balance.

Re: New FTTP install - speed well below guarantee

Thanks for the response all.

I am measuring from a iMac (10gbps network), directly attached into hub2 (ethernet). It is a fresh install so will give it another 24 hours to settle and will report back.

Thanks,
