No Need for Engineer?

Hi there, I signed up for a BT Fibre 1 contract and was told I would need an engineer to set up my broadband. I didn’t realise at the time that I already had a BT one port modem/master socket in my house with a cable coming out from the bottom, so does this mean I could set up the router by myself without the need for an engineer? The engineer date is supposed to be the 9th but it’s yet to be confirmed. I’ve been trying to get through to BT customer service via phone but have had no luck after half an hour.

Re: No Need for Engineer?

Hi @briony_br and welcome to our community.

Thanks for posting about your order. It would be best to go with the engineer visit to make sure everything is connected and working as it should. Please let us know how it goes and if there are any problems we'll be happy to help.

Cheers

David
