Hey all.
Hope all is well. So it turns out that my area in Wishaw, Scotland might not be getting FTTP until 2026 and I thought we were getting it either this or next year..Looks like I'm stuck with FTTC for a while urgh..
Kind regards
Colin,
There’s over 75 PIA Network Providers out there. If Openreach don’t build it before 2025/26 then someone else probably will.
thats true. I just thought youfibre, sky etc..are all under Openreach so I thought I would have to wait until they done it.
Kind regards
Colin,
25/26 here in Cheltenham, I am not surprised.
City fibre in town etc. Netomnia & You Fibre crawling all over the place.
You may be in luck with YourFiber there doing Hamltion at the moment and have done EK last year so hopefully someone will pass your home soon
Openreach Just don’t seem that interested in this region and Virgin are in the process of upgrading to FTTP
It is physically impossible to Build in every Village, Town and City simultaneously, even if Openreach employed every competent Telecoms Engineer/Technician in the Country.
Why do you think Openreach have opened up their Network to the 75+ PIA Network Providers. There’s no market for over 75 of them in the U.K. Just like the Cable Companies of the late 1980’s they’ll soon start selling up and going out of Business but unlike those Companies these new PIA ones have little to no assets to sell because used Fibre Cable has zero resale value and who do you think will end up inheriting the Network they’ve built?
"I have a cunning plan my Lord"
I consulted The Wise Woman and she said, " order a new voice line from BT then cancel the old one". She seemed a bit dodgy though.
Take it up with Digital Scotland.
I'm in Wales, at Bontddu.
