Re: Noise transmission

Hi  my home is so noisy  since new cables have been added to the telegraph poles accross the road from my Bungalow.

When I go to bed the noise sounds very loud. In my Bathroom I also hear clicking noises all the time. Is there anything

I can do to stop the noise in my home.

Re: Noise transmission

@Crystalclear  The short answer, is no. If the noises are emanating from a Openreach pole out in the street and they are so loud that it is affecting your sleep and overall health, then I'm guessing the only thing you can do, is complain to your local authority Environmental Health Team about noise pollution.

The noises from the pole must be incredibly loud if the pole is across the street from your home and it is audible when you go to bed. Have any of your neighbours who live immediately adjacent to the offending telegraph pole ever complained? When did Openreach install new cables to the pole? How long has the noise been going on for?

I guess you could complain to BT in the first instance if BT supply you with a service and they in turn would need to speak directly with Openreach. However, if no one else in your street has complained, you might find no action forthcoming.

Do you have double or triple glazed windows? If you have and the noise is still creeping past those, other than wearing ear plugs, not sure what else you can do to be honest.

Re: Noise transmission

As stated earlier in this post , it’s not just Openreach wires on Openreach poles , so as well as BT possibly not the complainants provider , the supplier to BT (Openreach) may not be responsible for the wires thought to be the cause of this noise anyway .
