Due to have an FTTP install soon, do they cut off the copper connection and can I then remove the box as it'll no longer be in use or needed. Dill the line still be live, with a 12v or whatever charge they send down it or is it completely switched off? Thanks
My exchange has recently had a 'stop sell' so guessing they'll no longer be selling any copper based services if that's of any relevance as I assume even if someone new moved to the property they wouldn't be able to use the old socket anyway.

If you are transferred to dital voice then the copper line will be redunant and you can safely remove the master socket. It will be as dead as a Dodo.
