Removal of FTTP BBU
The FTTP BBU was installed 7 years ago and we are soon to be migrated over to Digital Voice. The BBU will then be redundant. I have seen in the previous postings that to remove the BBU one merely has to remove the power supply from the BBU to the Huwaei ONT, and feed the ONT direct from the transformer plug. However, there is another cable linking the BBU to the ONT, that enters on the righthand side to an unmarked port, which appears to be a data cable. Can this be removed and discarded? Thus the BBU unit as a whole can be recycled.
