Re: Slow Seek times with YouTube

Thanks all,

We have a couple P1 incidents on from fires and floods so something may have failed over and recovered. All the caching stats look good overall.

Re: Slow Seek times with YouTube

So it’s working a lot better now and back to how it was before. I do sometimes feel however, like it buffers a lot more than it should on this kind of connection (this has always been like this even before this issue) often auto default to 1440p instead of 4k video stream if there is an option for both, rather than automatically 4k - but that could just be a YouTube thing?  if I force it to 4k video from the cog option in YouTube it does seem to take about 2-4 seconds to play it instead of being instant. I guess this is why it’s defaulting to one quality below as it starts faster. Is that normal? I’m just surprised it would be considering the connection.

Like I said it’s always been like this though and not a new thing. It’s just basically back to normal now but I feel like it could always have been even better even before this issue?
