I’ve recently moved from Sky to BT with exactly the same package (upto 67 mbs) with Sky I was getting a near constant speed of around 63 mbs download and 20 mbs upload, now with BT I’m only averaging 49 mbs download and 9 mbs upload, how can this be when it’s basically just 1 company (BT) taking over the line from another company (Sky)

From the speeds in the OP it looks like you could be on fibre 1 & not fibre 2, what package does it show?
If the same profile was purchased, which if you were getting 63Mb must be F2 ( upto 80Mb ) then you are correct to expect a very similar sync rate irrespective of the ISP , as already asked for , post your router stats to confirm the rate at your router .
How are you measuring speed ?, is it via WiFi or a wired Ethernet device ?
