Re: Upcoming FTTP Drop Wire Into Loft Routing into a Downstairs Office

Ah I see.

My copper drop and the bracket isn’t on an area which is fully boarded in the loft  and the internal  stud wall below is about 8 feet away from the entry point  (by my rough calculation) so I can’t see an installer wanting to bring the cable in and then route it into the loft and then down into the stud wall cavity.

But if the cable can be routed internally and cable grip fixed across the internal front wall in the loft and then dropped down underneath the soffits,  routed down the external wall to the left of the bungalow to an external CSP & then through the solid

wall into the office and install the ONT where the power sockets & Smart Hub are located in the office, that would be the  preferred solution.

But as the previous replies have indicated, it’s all down to the individual installer’s assessment & Openreach’s policies

I’ll ask when the time comes, but will see what happens.

All I know is that the Mrs will not allow the cable to be dropped down the centre of front external wall of  the bungalow for all the world to see.

I’d be bang in trouble if that’s the only solution offered, a nailed on aborted install.

But, fingers crossed we can figure it out when the time comes.

Keep your fingers crossed its an Openreach engineer who comes for the install. A coontracor would be different as they are paid per job.
