Today this began. No failure as far as I know.
I am BB only and fully cabled, there is only this one line active.
The drop in download only seems very precise.
What should I do.
Thank you
David
Check /swap the cables , dropping to 100Mb suggests the cable is only rated cat5 (100Mb) or a fault has disabled the cable in such a way that it’s only capable of 100Mb , what device are you using to measure speed , wired or wireless ? Any powerline devices in the setup ?
All is cabled. Cat 7. No powerline adaptors. 2 measures used to check.
Speedof.me is one. The other is Microsoft Win 11 built in (Ookla)
Just switched to wireless and it is the same.
Just looked at the log and I have had a reboot 2days 10hrs ago and another 3days before that.

Another way to tell is by looking at the cable plug. If there are only 4 wires connected then it will only be capable of 100Mb/s.
I'd also try reseating the plugs a few times, as a bit of muck can take out one pin and drop it to 100Mb/s.
Please tell me how my wireless is showing the same
possibly wrong tye of cable take the Ethernet cable directly from the ont an rhen test @WSH
wireless maybe down to interferance also
@Davidold80 Well you didn't say it also affected the Wi-Fi until just now, did you.
@shakey1981 has a good point. Assuming you are on FTTP, as suggested by 500Mb/s, it could be the cable from the ONT to the router. That would also limit the Wi-Fi.
As at the time if the original reply it wasn’t known what your ‘setup’ entailed, the only Ethernet cable that was known to exist was between the ONT and router, that’s the first one to try swapping out to eliminate it as the problem, you could also look up how to set up a PPPoE session on your PC, linking direct from from your ONT to a PC/laptop (assuming you have a one with Ethernet ) some modern ‘slim’ cases don’t have an Ethernet socket , but you can get adapters, using a different Ethernet cable to the existing one between the ONT and router , then you can also eliminate the router as the potential problem .
OK I don't know what is going on so apologies for what has occurred.
I have a Smart Hub type 2 and have just solved the problem at least for now.
I changed the port in use from P2 to P3 and all is well.
