What does halo actually give you?

So, I had a call with BT recently and renegotiated my fibre package.

this was off the back of an accidental threat to leave (instigated by Sky)

i previously had halo 500MB and was paying 64.99 per month

Price I was offered was 26.99 per month for 900MB without halo.

BT have now asked me to pay 50 for the disc as I didn’t even own it. I did think I owned it as part of Halo.

makes me think, why have I been paying so much for the last 7 years.
I don’t even own the disc!

Feeling a bit ripped off here as I haven’t noticed a difference.

what does Halo do to justify the price

Also, why do I have to pay 50 for what is a 4 year old piece of kit

Re: What does halo actually give you?

 £27 for 900mbps is a brilliant deal...well done you! ( are you sure it's 900mbps and not 150mbps?)

The benefits of Halo have always been a mystery

As for owning the discs...all equipment is loaned and expected back at the contract end.

All isp's do this not just BT

Wifi discs are readily available on ebay for around £30 and work perfectly subscription free.

See link about Halo 3

https://www.bt.com/halo

It is an expensive add on that most people don't need.
