You can put the ONT near the power and complete the run in CAT5/6/7 cable.
My ONT is in a cabinet at the front of the property and the Router/switch is in a data cabinet (hidden away) connected via cables laid during refurbishment. I have various outlets around the house for ceiling mounted access points and data connections for cameras, tv’s, set top boxes, etc.
This was almost 2 years ago, guys prob already long renovated his house by now.
Yes, I have gone for a cat socket where the fibre cable would enter the house and where the ONS will be located. This CAT socket has a run to the location where I have my current modem and where all the rooms their own cat sockets are housed. Currently a virgin cable runners directly to this location. I am hoping this setup with a CAT in between also workes for the modem that comes with the fibre internet. Alternatively, it will be a splitter to distribute and the modem will be hidden on the other side of the house. Less ideal but there is somewhat of a backup plan. During the renovation, a new boiler was installed near this location as well which also needed power. I asked the installer for a double socket to supply the future ONS. Hopefully, this will work once there will finally be a fibre roll out in my area and I can be free from only virgin XD
