I'm currently using BT Broadband and a BT hub and happy enough but am considering moving to BT Fibre. My parents recently did the same but OpenReach arrived and then refused to set them up due to access to the property but BT then refused to switch the copper back on. It took nearly two months to resolve it all and them to finally get their broadband and number back so I want to understand completely what the physical set up is before I started ordering anything.
At the moment, my BT main socket sits in my study behind a desk cabinet and I run a cable through to the lounge where it meets the BT Hub. If I go for Fibre, what is the physical set up - can the main socket still be in the same place behind the desk, does it still then just run to a hub or is it all different ?. Is there a diagram of the indoor installation so I know what's what ?
Thanks.

Re: Wiring Map for Fibre
Your current main socket can stay wherever it is as it will become redundant. Openreach will come out to install a ONT (think modem) andterminate the fibre cable there. It is easier and quicker on an outside wall and near a power socket. You then need to connect the hub to the ONT, it doesn't need to be next to it but can be up to 100mtrs away from it connected by ethernet cable.
