When I worked as a CST doing Copper the Estimated Speeds for FTTC were based on an average at the DP + 60m.
While most people in built up areas are within 60m of their DP some people in more rural areas can be hundreds, if not thousands of metres away from the DP.
DP stands for Distribution Point and is the Black Box at the top of a Pole and our Clippy Joint in an Underground Joint Box.
