BT Mobile E-Sim

Hello BT Mods,

I am a long term customer of BT, and it's mobile service since inception. I have a request for E-Sims to be made available to BT mobile customers. And if this can be put in front of teams actually making consumer business cases.

Talking to various customer service/technical teams including networks, on the phone over past 4/5 months and obviously in the wider media, I have gathered the below

With the change  in leadership now there is now no longer an urgent need to push people to EE

Physically there are no actual restrictions on providing ESIMs on BT network as given, BT business already provide this

If this can be put in front of people who actually make commercial decisions, it would actually be a better outcome for both BT and its customers

Finally there surely be a better way for BT complaints handlers to discuss internally instead of using the rip-cord of 'please use the Ombudsman Office as we cannot be bothered to actually make an effort to actually investigate any further'

Regards

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

As you mention the moving of customers from BT to EE is now looking a little different - this is for the broadband and TV.
For mobile BT mobile still exists for people who have it but you have not been able to get a new deal for quite a while they are already all on EE and I don't see that changing.  I wouldn't be surprised before too long if they don't roll everyone on an old BT SIM over to a EE deal.  This being the case I don't see esims being a thing - business will always be its own thing.

This being said, this is a community forum and although mods do come on here they don't have access to customers accounts to raise this kind of concern.

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

Hi thanks for your reply. Indeed am not interested to move, as the deals are not like to like.

For the same deal I will be paying minimum 20+ and additionally there is now the below in EE Mobile t&c's which I am sure no one notices when first the ee idea is pitched

1. There is a cost of receiving VMs even when mobile is off overseas (phone on airplane mode only connected to WiFi, and WiFi calling not available in phone and nor enabled either)

2. Some specific numbers now have a cost associated with them, these are currently free with BT (think 0844 etc)

3. As on BT I have BT sports covered

4. Addl costs on eu roaming, again currently covered on bt

5. Unsure if this is a real one, wifi hotspot is linked to bt mobile (happy to be corrected on this)

As I see it unfortunately only other way out is to move over to competition ASA the contract is finished. And that is my plan unless something does change.. And likely it won't 😂 😂. At work there are approx 8 individuals I know of in similar situ. Extrapolating that and even taking 50% off, numbers likely aren't that insignificant.

Regards

@Frustrated_Usr

What do you mean your posts are marked as spam?

If they were seen as being spam they would have been removed and nobody would be able to reply to them as I and @Manatarms84  are doing

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

There must have been something in the specific post that was construed as spam or you were posting too quickly after your previous post.

It is an automated system so I doubt anybody at BT was blocking it because "truth hurts".

Unless I am missing something your screen shot it not showing anything about being spam.

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

Yep maybe it's picking up on some random keyword. Look at the message count.

Btw I had listed the differences between EE addl costs and that BT do not have those. List is over 4/5 major Items, incl eu roaming, vm costs overseas to name a few. At presales these aren't mentioned by anyone but are in tandc.

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

It is against the forum's T&Cs to do a comparison with other ISPs prices  etc for products but the post are not, as far as I am aware, blocked as spam.

What usually happens is when they are posted the poster is informed it is against forum rules and they are asked to amend their post. If they do not amend the post or the 1 hour limit allowed for editing a post has elapsed the post will be edited by the forum moderators.

In any event I doubt BT will take on board what you are posting here if for no other reason, other than what @Manatarms84 has already mentions, the posts do not go to departments at BT.

If you are seeking change you would be better to write to or email the CEO with your suggestions. You will find her email address with an Internet search.

Re: BT Mobile E-Sim

Sure was already very keenly aware not to post any other links, or comparisons to external vendors and had not done that. I guess there are probably some auto rules etc. How I found was it showed a snippet of a message (for a few seconds) to say post marked spam, then it disappeared so could not even take a screenshot of that.
