Hi all! A few days ago my father changed his mobile account from BT Mobile to EE, his phone was out of contract anyway so got himself a new Samsung phone with EE, at the same time, he renewed his broadband contract, the thing is, on his estimated bills forthcoming next week, the phone he had with BT is still listed there at full price, but the Broadband has adjusted to his new package. Just a little worried he may be charged twice, once by EE and again by BT for a phone he has basically finished with, he did enquire about unlocking the phone so a new SIM card could be put in and it could be kept as a spare, but was told by a advisor today that they do not do this and he would have to take it to a shop! (Sure that is totally wrong, as was the fact the advisor he spoke to tried to sell him another Broadband contract as it was "nearly expired" despite only renewing it last week!!)

Makes you wonder sometimes if BT have an open door policy in their call centres so anyone can wander in off the street & have a go! Guess he'll have to keep trying until he gets through to someone who knows what they're doing...
As regards your father's BTMobile phone being locked. Depending on when he got the phone you may find it is not locked and can be used on any phone provider's network with the correct SIM card. If it is locked it is a simple procedure to have it unlocked.

Thanks all, just phoned again and spoke to a different advisor who was very helpful and got my fathers queries sorted.
