Greetings,
Roaming in the USA at the moment and unable to make or receive phone calls on my mobile. The device (iPhone 13) is apparently properly registered to the local carrier as I am able to send/receive text messages.
When attempting to call the mobile the calls go straight to voicemail without ringing or otherwise noticing the device. I do get a text (from 1571) that follows the calls saying a particular phone number attempted to call me.
When attempting to make a call from the device, I get a message (in an "English" accent) that says "the system is busy, please try again later".
I have tried switching the SIM to a different device (same result), and obviously repeated rebooting attempts with the SIM switching. Tried a multitude of dialing patterns, with appending 00s, +'s, dropping leading zeros from numbers, etc..., all to no avail.
I am almost ready to give up and call BT Support, but before I do that I thought I'd ask the community if they had any bright ideas (or what to ask Support to do for me).
Cheers!
Have you set the international calling spend limit greater than £0 in MYBT?
Good question, yes the monthly spend cap is at £50 and the data roaming cap is at £35. I am uncertain if the data roaming cap is truly "data" only or if this also includes voice services. Either way, caps seem to be sufficient, and I have the £5/day Int'l roaming add-on enabled.
