A simple question, but haven’t found any answer yet. When I call 1471 from BT Mobile I just get the repeated message “sorry, the system’s busy, please try again later”.

1471 does not work on mobile phones it is for landlines.

Yes, thank you, I had read that article before posting - but that page does not anywhere state “service not available on BT mobile”. If it did, it would save any confusion.

Information on our 1471 service is only available when following Help and support - Landline and Digital Voice - All about BT 1471.
The reason for this is that when using your mobile, you can check call logs to see which numbers or contacts have called you, rather than needing to use 1471.

Yes I see the logic for that, normally yes I would just look at the call list, but I was trying to trace a No Caller ID nuisance call, so the caller’s number is not on my phone.
I appreciate your assistance, but be aware that the link you shared with me to the 1471 help page, displayed on a mobile, doesn’t show the help breadcrumbs so is not obvious the contents don’t apply to BT mobile.
Additionally, calling 1471 from a mobile and getting a message to “try again later” is really unhelpful - unless this is a secret BT code phrase for “forget it, that doesn’t work” lolz!
