EE PAYG Sims

Go to solution

I was offered a deal on 4 EE sims while sorting my TV contract out which I accepted on the basis what I was told was true (not always the case with BT sales sadly).

The sims have arrived, but I have received nothing else in terms of a confirmation of what was agreed. No emails from BT or EE (which I was told I would) and nothing shows in my product/order pages in MyBT.

Is it fair to assume that if I don't activate the sims, nothing will happen? Without any written confirmation from BT or EE to the deal on the phone, I'm not inclined to follow through and have since found a cheaper deal I think I prefer anyway.

If anyone is interested, I was told all BT broadband customers get double data on EE sims now, not just those with Halo (which I don't have), but that is not confirmed anywhere I can see, hence my doubts.

Do have an EE account ? any new mobile orders would be on the EE side and not visible via MyBT.

Sims are sent out activated, this changed a couple of years back.

The double data is news to me, you get 10% off and Halo get double data but I could be wrong.

My advice is ring EE, the sims will have the numbers assigned to them printed on the packaging, if you no longer want them anymore, cancel them.

I don’t have an EE account and bought through BT.

I was told I would get full instructions sent via email which I haven’t and the EE packaging isn’t helpful either. I’ll see if I can find a number on there.

You do if you ordered mobile products, new orders raised by BT are on the EE side of the business.

Spoke to EE, they have sent me down the "channel returns" route, which is 0800 079 0103.

I have been cut off twice so gave up. Following a chat on socials, I have completed the form l was directed to here and await a response.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge @-Richie-, still quite a lot of work needs to be done on the self-serve materials at this stage sadly. BT isn't even referenced as a partner in the EE flow.

Glad you're sorted at least 👍

From https://www.bt.com/products/mobile/ it has :

I believe the 26th October was when BT stopped offering new mobile sim plans to customers, handsets have been like that for a while now.

Yes, I know, sorry I meant the Help > Contact BT flow.

If you select Help > Contact BT > Orders and upgrades > Existing customer > Mobile is when it hits removed pages and gives you a 404 error.
