How do I donate/transfer some of my data allowance to my son's number (we're on a family sim deal).

I hardly use any at all and he seems to hit his limit after 2 weeks so goes another 2 weeks without data.

I’ve never found a way to do it with my BT family sim.

Data gifting is not a feature that BT mobile support, EE do and are part of the BT family so it might be worth speaking to the BT sales team for options.
Another option is to regrade your sons mobile plan to something that suits his needs, it would mean no family sim saving but it does mean you both have a tariff that suits your needs.
