How do I chat with BT helpdesk / customer support ? I am abroad and have “no service”, therefore unable to call BT. There is no chat option in their “Contact us” page, and no email address for help either. Thanks

If it is a BT Mobile phone that you have "no service" with check that you have read over the following link
How do I use BT Mobile abroad? | BT Help
Did you activate the ability to use abroad in MYBT ? You also need to ensure your spend limit for abroad is greater than £0 so make it at least £5.
All my settings are correct: Calls to international numbers is ON, Using your phone abroad is ON, monthly spend cap is £ 10 and data roaming cap is £ 5 (although in my view, both caps could be set to zero as I am in a country covered by the plan)
You can set both caps to zero if you want but you will find it won't work.
You have not said which country you are presently in so it is not possible to suggest which phone service operator you should be connecting to but have you tried setting the phone service operator manually.
Not sure if it helps, as you want mobile, but the last time I “chatted” about the broadband it was:
https://www.bt.com/help/contact-bt/technical-support/broadband
Thank you. I just tried that and spent 1 hour chatting to the broadband team, they wanted to help but couldn’t figure out what the problem was. In the end, I managed to fix it myself: on the phone, I changed the settings under Mobile Data/Network Selection, switched off « Automatic » and selected a network provider manually. Thank you everyone for your suggestions. PROBLEM SOLVED
