Renewing Contract - Have to replace BT sim with EE sim. How do I not lose contacts, messages etc

They said I had to move because BT was ceasing to be  a consumer brand.

Store them on the phone's SD card if it has that facility and then the SD card can be used in any phone that accepts those memory cards.
