SIM card activation

I inserted my BT SIM this morning...then...crickets. Phone shows no SIM card and cannot call BT as phone inactive. Cannot find where to activate the SIM. The usual bt.com/go appears to be useless.

Thanks for any help...

Re: SIM card activation

Thanks for the answer but when I click on the bt.com/go link to activate I cannot see anything other than the usual my  BT page even though I am logged in. Where is the activation button located? I don't seem able to locate the page that the link is supposed to access.

Re: SIM card activation

No,  it doesn't seem to recognise the SIM card and just says no connection, no SIM. It was Virgin Media previously but I contacted them and they told me the phone was not locked. I took the SIM out and cleaned it and put it back and rebooted the phone.

It turns out that there is an EE/BT shop in my next town so I will pop in tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Re: SIM card activation

Hi @caitlihnec

Welcome to the community.

It's a good idea to pop into the store. Hopefully, they can help get it all activated for you, or figure out what is causing the problem.

Let us know what happens please.

Thanks

Chris

Re: SIM card activation

Any phone sold since 2021 should be unlocked. Maybe try a friends SIM to confirm.

Why have you got a BT SIM, given that BT haven't sold SIMs to new customers for a couple of years?
