Helpful not . My AND my wife’s. We do talk to each other, no need to listen in or spy !

Thanks , as far as I know it was on . I anyway switched it on  for safety’s sake this morning . 

we don’t get that many calls anyway. 

for some reason ; about 6 months ago , instead of a voice mail we both got a sort of transcript of what would of been said . I seem to recall a time lag as well. 
 Then again today and a few days ago we both had messages left that were not recorded .

I had the same issue a while ago — voicemails weren’t being recorded even though people said they left messages. In my case, I called BT support and they reset the voicemail feature remotely. After that, everything worked again. You might want to try turning voicemail off and back on from your account settings too, just to refresh the service.
