iPhone 14

Go to solution

From what I’ve heard the new iPhone for 2022 will not have a physical SIM card but will rely on an e-sim. I believe BT mobile do not offer an e-sim option so if true will current customers be unable to upgrade to the new phone?

Reports here suggest that most are being pushed to EE when their contracts end & they do support eSIMs.

The e-sim only phone is just for the USA. It appears a it’s been adopted far quicker there.

Even so, I think you will be forced to EE as BT seem to have discontinued handset sales.

That has been the case for a while. BT have made their intention clear that consumer users will move to EE. Stating reducing duplication and they regard EE as a better selling point for mobile, broadband etc. Sim only BT users will also move to EE. Will have to see what happens when further details are announced, but this has no impact on Apple strategy of sim free devices. That push comes from Apple.
