BT TV app

The new (play store). Mobile BT TV app seems to be working today with the existing credentials migrated from the EETV app. However delving into the Settings and Device management of the app  when using Samsung devices  (mobile phone and seperate Android tablet .. the message  “this device isn’t currently registered….” appears.

the app appears to work normally other this the misleading message. So the app says it doesn’t  recognise the devices as registered but does in reality run as if they are a registered device. It also doesn’t identify the current device.

using (IOS App Store ) app on an iPad the device management is perfectly normal and as expected.

Re: BT TV app

When it says "registered" it means registered to play.  You can install the app on as many devices as you like, however only 4 can be registered to play video.  You've clearly played video on the iPad, so it's consumed a device slot.  Play something on the Samsung and it'll show as registered too.

Re: BT TV app

All 4 device slots were allocated on EETV app.

All 4 device slots are allocated on BTTV app for the same devices as part of the migration  .

All three devices samsung Phone , Samsung Tablet and iPad  have been used today to play content via their BT TV App. No problem playing the content on the devices.   Just the BTTV app on the samsung devices are not reporting correctly in the device management of the Settings menu.

Re: BT TV app

Hi @zulu17 , the app on my Samsung TV has loaded correctly and it has registered 3 devices, iPhone, IPad and Samsung TV.

Perhaps this relates to your account?

Re: BT TV app

Just spoke to the guys in ops.  All devices for BT accounts were supposed to be reset at 9am, however the process is taking a bit longer than expected.  Those slots will all clear later this afternoon, at which point the problem goes away.

(Samsung devices will appear on our system with a new ID, which is why you're seeing the odd behaviour.  Apple devices and most other brands of Android device still use the same ID, so it would have been completely transparent).

Re: BT TV app

@StewM  i mentioned that the IoS app was fine.... the information within the settings of the Play store app on two samsung devices (tablet and phone is what i raised.)

I think Samsung TV may be a further variant particularly if it is a big screen app.
