Re: No service

On 3-9-24 openreach shut down my internet and phone to go a new pole in road. Internet etc never came back on my neighbours did even those with bt. 15 days later no further forward dozens of phone calls no help from bt. Even open reach won’t tell by when will be fixed. One day its fault closed and monitoring another day it’s ongoing outage then back to fault closed monitoring. We are in our 70s and do not need this stress but need internet and phone.please can anyone help with who can get things moving by are totally uninterested in fixing this. Paul

Re: No service

If Openreach were changing a pole , or changing the location of the pole you are served from, it’s possible that your ‘service’ is now connected to the wrong house , ( as well as potentially just disconnected at the pole ) and if the occupant of that house ( that has your service ) hasn’t noticed, they may be unaware and using your connection, if that’s the case , any ‘test’ of your line , it could be testing OK , hence the fault reports getting cancelled.

What sort of phone service do you have , DV ( phone plugged into the router ) or still on PSTN ? , you could try ringing your own landline number ( from a mobile for example ) and see if it answered, obviously if it is you ask what address they are .

If it’s possible to log into your ‘My BT’ ( you maybe able to connect to BT / EE  from another working BT broadband customers WiFi that  is within range of your house  , or connect to your mobile as a hotspot ) and test your line yourself , any fault detected should raise a ticket , or call BT again and stress that your line is out of order ( irrespective of any test results ) and you need an engineer visit
