I’ve been trying to follow the link in this message to gain this from my broadband package, but only get so far due to page maintenance.

Get started at bt.com/mybt — head for Your Products, scroll to the Content Partner section and click Add Now. Please make sure you log into the Microsoft account you'd like to add your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to.

when was your activation date?  you need to wait at least until the 14 day cooling off period has passed before accessing content partners.

if still problem try billing  https://www.bt.com/help/contact-bt/account-and-billing/broadband
