Account Manager Request Pending - stuck?

I am trying to manage my mother's phone account. She is 90.  I have registered as her Financial Power of Attorney and now want to manage her BT phone account. I have created a MyBt account in my name and requested Account Manager role for my mothers account number. The account now just shows a "request pending" message. How long is this likely to take? My mother does not have online access at all including no email account and has not received, she says, any BT call to approve this access.  How do I get this request approved so I can start managing her account as her son and attorney please?

Re: Account Manager Request Pending - stuck?

The account holder must have a BTID and set up MyBT then an Account Manager can be set up.

You may find it easier just to set up her MyBT and just log on as her.

Re: Account Manager Request Pending - stuck?

As your mother doesn't already have a BTid, you won't be able to create an account manager role associated with it

It would be a waste of time anyway as the account manager role is limited.

You need to create a BTid as your mother as account holder. Not sure how that process works without broadband but try creating it with your email address.

Re: Account Manager Request Pending - stuck?

Can't believe my mother's account cannot benefit from me as Account Manager.  She has an account number and that should really be enough. Given this would be a very common request then surely the design cannot really expect either an elderly non-internet account holder to h actually have an 'online account' or for someone else to 'pretend to be them' by setting up an account in their name!

Re: Account Manager Request Pending - stuck?

What would be the point? If the account holder isn't capable of managing the account themselves why would there be a need for two accounts, one never used and an account manager.
