Re: Am i being ripped off ?

@gg30340  Sorry, you misunderstood me.  I was on the Sky forum at the time.  (I post on lots of forums, under different names).  As I said, this forum is much more tolerant of anything critical.

Re: Am i being ripped off ?

To sum up this thread, if you feel enough loyalty to an ISP you've willingly tied yourself to for years because you've been happy with their service and are completely content to be charged well over what you could pay elsewhere, then that's consumer choice in action.

If you're too bone idle/lazy to move to another ISP and content to pay well over the odds for something you could get cheaper elswhere, then again, that's consumer choice. I wish I had more money to not give a care in the world as to how much extra I could pay if I were that loaded up with spare cash.

From a personal perspective, I only trust two ISP's to provide me with what has been at least for me over the last decade, excellent service and that is both BT and Plusnet. It's just a shame I have to flip flop between the two at the end of a contract because I'm no longer prepared to play the stupid haggling game with retention departments who can't be bothered to automatically offer me the same deal as a brand new customer unless I grovel enough. Contributors here have made it their business to say it's not making customers 'grovel' but it's my belief it is because that's how I feel. I genuinely don't want to waste precious minutes of my life haggling for that golden deal whereby another ISP can outdo another by a quid a month and that's my choice as a consumer.
