I have just found out that I have been billed for the BT Now Sports for the last 9 months , even though I cancelled it after just 1 months usage. I have the email from BT saying it had been cancelled on 1st June 2022 and they have acknowledged it was their fault. I have phoned BT but they say they will only refund me 3 months instead of the full 9 months they have charged me as I should have checked my bill !!! What are peoples thoughts? I have raised a complaint.
At the end of the day it is up to you to check your bills each month so I'd just take it on the chin, begs the question why you haven't noticed for as long? (Personally I wish I was able to not pay as much attention to my bills tbh)
If you put in writing that you wanted your subscription cancelled, it is BT's responsibility to cancel it.
If they did not do so, they should fully refund your fee.
Complain to OFCOM, unless you can find a provision somewhere in their T&C's that says they are allowed to only refund the last 3 months.
