BT does not offer me G.fast, but other service providers do.
I was looking at other options just to consider, and I noticed almost every other broadband provider has speeds available to me of about 250mbps, even EE does and I believe they're ran by BT, yet when I check with BT it does not give me any options to upgrade, currently at 45mbps download.
I checked the broadband availability checker by BT and it also said g.fast was available at my address (both A and B, but not sure what's the difference between the two), and yes I used checked with both address and UPRN.
So, what gives?

Re: BT does not offer me G.fast, but other service providers do.
G.Fast is not being offered as Openreach are concentrating their resources on FTTP provision. If you are only getting 45mbs at the moment, then its not likely your line would support G.Fast anyway, as you would be too far away from the cabinet.

It's also very possible that what you're seeing from other providers are examples of products that might be available but not actually available.
An example being when we moved house because the previous occupants had broadband from Sky, BT thought they could only offer me 36mbps. Once the takeover was complete, we were able to upgrade to a much faster product.
The reverse might be the situation in your case .

Re: BT does not offer me G.fast, but other service providers do.
I'm only about 80 metres away from the cabinet which I believe is close enough, plus BT's service checker itself says g.fast is available to me, the other service providers let me check out.

If you are only getting 45mbs download speed at the moment, and are on fibre 2, then there is something wrong with either your line, or your internal wiring.
You should be getting close to the full 80mbs connection speed.
Issues with your line would stop yo getting G.fast.

Re: BT does not offer me G.fast, but other service providers do.
But the thing is, i'm not exactly sure how to get to fibre 2, BT won't give me any options to upgrade in general, every time I try to get offers it says they cannot offer me anything at this time.

Ring 0800 800 030 tomorrow, and ask for an upgrade to fibre 2.

Using the broadband service checker by BT, unsure if "green" means I have g.fast available.
Here's an image of when I checked it, i'm going to call up BT after to check but for now i'll ask on here, does "green" mean I have g.fast available, if not, what does it mean?
