I recently accepted an offer to renew my broadband contract and in return for tying in for an extra year the price would be frozen.
However my latest bill shows the annual increase in charges. Is this just because the "cooling off" period has not ended (in which case I assume that the next bill will sort it) or is there a problem which I need to sort out myself? I imagine that someone else here has had the same experience and will be able to advise what happened in their case.

Same here, thinking its because my FTTP order has not been completed and activated yet, engineer booked for the 24th.
It will depend on when the bill is issued vs when your new package starts or started. If the bill was produced before the new package start date then that would explain why (and will be modified for the next bill). If it was produced after the package start date then I would contact BT and check it out.
Thank you for those replies.
The bill was issued after the new package started but before the end of the "cooling off" period so I think that I will wait until the next bill is issued to see what happens.
Thank you.
BT bills after an upgrade or change are always a big of a mess in my experience, but they usually right themselves on the next bill. 🤞
