Broadband activation date suddenly moved

I just applied for a broadband today and we agreed upon signing of contract that the activation date is on June 24. Later today i received a text message saying it was moved to July 1, moving the engineer appointment. Is there any way to move this back to the original date? We need the connection for work and we are expecting to have the wifi in a week. I live in Isleworth.

Re: Broadband activation date suddenly moved

What's the story, just moved in, switching supplier, new line, something else?

14 days is the usual lead time for a switch, or possibly if there's a cease on the line from a previous occupier.

Re: Broadband activation date suddenly moved

Then there's a good chance that the previous occupier cancelled their service, which as I said puts a cease on the line. That means a new service can't usually start for 14 days. It's possible that whoever took the order wasn't aware of that. I don't think there's anything you can do other than request the loan of a 4G MiFi device to tide you over. That does of course rely on you having decent EE coverage indoors.

If anyone knows different I'm sure they'll post.

Ok. That clarifies it then. Thank you very much.
