Yes, I agree.
Let’s try again here and keep things really simple.
My original numbers were true and the package I’m moving to is identical.
The only significant cost that distorts things a little is that my unlimited calls package is being downgraded to payg, so let’s discount that from the comparison.
Therefore the net additional cost per month for Halo 3+ alone is £53.50.
There’s loads more that I had originally included in the deleted posts.
It seems odd that you are unable to post this , clearly numbers , letters and characters are not censored, profanity is censored , and presumably other trigger words , and even if a long word happens to contain within it some ‘banned’ combination of letters that may also fall foul of an overbearing censor but posting competitor ISP’s names and prices are not banned as far as I know ,I’ve done it many times .
It is the case though when citations can’t be provided, it does diminish somewhat the validity of the claim , in the past , ( for no reason really ) some posters would rather than say to look on Amazon for a product , they would say something like available on a online market place named after a river in South America , as promoting business or commerce wasn’t allowed , although in truth that wasn’t really necessary, this post obviously contains ‘Amazon’ perhaps you can be creative in providing the required information.
I can only assume it was the direct comparison of prices, both actual and offered, that triggered the algorithm.
I can try via private message if you want? Let me know.
Oh wow. This is nuts. It won’t let me send a PM either. 🤷♂️
I got an invalid HTML message, kept amending and trying again then it locked me out completely.
Nothing more I can do. Sorry.
Taking Sky as an arbitrary company for comparison, and assuming 500Mb broadband, they are £1 cheaper per month than BT , they include PAYG that would be £5 with BT so a total of £6 a month £72 a year ..both Sky and BT increases prices , Sky don’t publish in advance , but usually around 10%
In that comparison I’d find it impossible to get a £795 difference in price (more that 10 times as much ) clearly Sky may not be your new ISP , perhaps you can state what you paid BT rather than the yearly saving , (we presume it was broadband, Anytime Calls (not taken with the new company) and Halo (unclear if you have taken an equivalent, but has a BT ‘value’ of £18 , and the ISP you are joining presumably at the same speed or better speed …
Is the point you can save £795 saving because you were paying £66 a month more than what a new BT customer would pay but £432 of the ‘saving’ is a little disingenuous as the new company isn’t supplying Anytime Calls and Halo type benefits, worth £18+£18x12 so not a good comparison
I’ll try.
Leave the landline out of it. It’s unfair of me to have included it in hindsight. I have unlimited calls at the moment dropping to payg with the ISP you so accurately identified.
It’s the same 80/20 FTTC connection. It won’t change.
Currently paying £73.52. Will be paying tomorrow £20
I just saw your edit. Those are broadband only prices in both cases. It’s as level of a playing field as I can manage.
It very much reads that you’ve achieved a fantastic result 👍
I hope you have a successful experience with the new ISP.
I’d roughly estimate your BT price of £73 as around £36 plus change for the broadband, £18 plus change for Anytime Calls and £18 plus change for Halo , would that be in the ballpark ?
If the new provider is not supplying Anytime Calls or Halo benefits, then I’d suggest the comparison is £36 to £20 still a healthy saving of £192 a year but clearly no where near £795.
FTTC 80/20 for £20 is remarkable in that it barely covers the wholesale cost to OR , hopefully you don’t find out to your detriment why they can be so cheap .
Without coming across as entirely facetious but taking into account numerous back stories, could one really describe Halo as a benefit? 😂
Yes, I know, there will be folks out there who are happy with the product and are equally happy to pay for it.
