Broadband

I have an existing broadband connection for our business as we work from home. It is fibre to the exchange box and copper thereafter to our house. I am in the process of arranging a new broadband service through BT for our household personal use. Does a new cable need to be run from the telegraph pole outside to our house or will some of the existing spare wires be used in the existing cable?

Also if the existing cable can be used, is it possible to join the new service from the incoming spare cables in the back of the existing broadband box and then go to the new box for the new broadband service?

Openreach would probably use the other pair in the drop wire from the pole, but you may get a more definitive response from another forum member.

You need to make it clear when you order, as this is an additional line, otherwise you could lose your BT Business service. In theory they are separate parts of the company, but things can go wrong.
