Cancelling broadband

Hello, I’m wanting to cancel my BT broadband and go with another provider. Apparently I can only do this over the phone but with work I struggle to find the time. Is there any other way I can cancel?

Re: Cancelling broadband

If switching to another provider using the Openreach infrastructure then the big providers usually notify your current provider for you. Just make sure you are out of contract

@Hannaha274

Cancelling BT first would leave a pending cease on the line and a new provider would not be able to place an order until the cease completes, which could be 10 days or more.

The process explained by @jac_95 is the correct way.

Place your order with your new provider, and they inform BT, but make sure you are out of contract first, otherwise you could end up with a large cancellation charge.
